How to connect a HP Pavilion to television for external display?

Hi, I have purchased cables to go from the DVI port on an HP Pavilion p7-1110 to the component inputs of my television. I can't get signal on the tv. I have tried duplicating and extending the display. Can anyone help?

Answer:
Make sure to have the TV set up, mainly by pressing the "source" button on your remote. Also, make sure to go to control panel and set up the display to output.

How to connect your tv to your computer?

The Question:
Yes, you read that right. I'm googling it and all I'm getting is a bunch of guides on how to set your computer screen to appear on the television.

Well what if I want to do the opposite? How would I do that?

The Reason:
While my TV is bigger than my computer, it's blurry so I can't see small numbers and strain my eyes trying to. My TV is old, but I don't think it's TOO old.

Answer:
replace your old tv or have DTH. so could enjoy.

How to stop full screen game from closing when using my second monitor?

When playing a game or using a full screen program and I go to change music for example on my second monitor, the game will minimize on my main screen, anyway around this besides putting it in fullscreen window mode?

Answer:
No. Full screen applications isolate your mouse from clicking anything else while playing. You can't move your mouse off the game unless you want minimize to change. Sorry.

How to only display time but not the date in windows 7 taskbar?

My Windows 7 taskbar shows the date and the time.
Now I only like to show the time, like it was possible in XP, but this doesn't seem to be possible,
as I can only choose to show date and time or none under properties.

Any suggestions how to only get the time displayed?
Many thanks.

How to turn my computer monitor into a mirror?

Hi. Does anyone know a way to turn my monitor into a mirror? Or a background I can use to turn the monitor into a mirror? Scanning a mirror does not work.

Answer:
I'm a bit confused as to what it is that you actually want here. Here is what I can suggest: Turn on your webcam and choose mirror view and full screen. It will flip the image 180 horizontally to make it look like a mirror.

How to remove black border around the whole monitor screen?

I want to use an HDMI cable for my monitor because I'm using the VGA for my tv, and I don't have a DVI cable, and the HDMI cable isn't long enough to reach the tv. With the HDMI cable going to the monitor, there's a large black border around the screen. I've tried adjusting the resolution settings but it hasn't changed it at all. I'm using this ancient ATI HD Radeon 3650 with windows vista, and an LCD monitor. Is there any way to fix this?

Answer:
Use the auto adjust on the monitor

How to connect a projector to my computer?

I bought a projector that projects a TV or Gaming system up to 10 foot diagonally on any wall or white surface. The problem is that it only has AV connections in\out. Is there a cord or connector I can buy; and where, to connect it to my Monitor output on my computer so that my computer screen will be projected also?

Answer:
If your computer has VGA and the projector has RCA (red, white, yellow) jacks, the adapter will be around $5 or less - http://www.google.com/search?q=vga+to+rca+adapter
