How to ask a dentist to remove a tooth that had root canal therapy?

in

Having a root canal was the most horrible decision in my twenty seven years of life I ever made with my health. The tooth still hurts and my TMJ is painful. I just want the tooth removed. I will be saving up for an implant to replace the tooth. How can I get a dentist to remove this tooth?

P.S: No lecturing

Answer:
No Lecture Here. I'd send you to my Oral Surgeon if I could. He's the best. If it's bothering you, than I don't see why they would refuse to take it out. Go to an oral surgeon or have your dentist refer you to one.

How to pull a tooth out painlessly and fast?

in

I have an ortho appointment and i need to loose these to loose teeth! (They aren't super loose they are just pretty loose.) and I need help fast! I have my appointment tomorrow so thanks!

Answer:
Not sure what you mean - presumably you mean you need to loosen the teeth more before you LOSE them at the dentists. The only way is to keep rocking/wiggling them so they become looser. They may come out. Usually, two teeth would be extracted but it's not clear from your question. If they are not particularly loose I would think it would be easier to let the dentist numb you and take them out in the usual way. Saying that, deciduous (baby) teeth have hardly any root so they shouldn't be too much trouble.

How to safely buy and get cheap dental insurance?

I have been told to beware of scams and all that stuff. But this is my top priority, I need that insurance. Please help me. Are there any TRUSTED sites to help me find cheap dental insurance? I am not paying for anyone else other than myself. Just one adult individual. Thanks and I look forward to a helpful reply!

Answer:
With the rising cost of going to the dentist, many people are struggling with the decision of whether or not to purchase dental insurance. Whether you are considering buying dental insurance through your employer or independently, be sure to investigate several different plans and ask questions about the factors listed below. This information will help you choose the right dental insurance plan before signing on the dotted line. The yearly maximum is the most money that the dental insurance plan will pay within one full year. The yearly maximum will automatically renew every year. If you have unused benefits, these will not roll over. Most dental insurance companies allow an average yearly maximum of $1,000. Most independent dental insurance plans will only pay for your dental services if you go to a contracted and participating In-Network Dentist. Find out if you are required to go to a participating dentist or if you can choose your own. Almost all dental insurance companies use what is called a Usual, Customary and Reasonable (UCR) fee guide. This means that they set their own price that they will allow for every dental procedure that they cover. If you are on a policy that requires you to go to a participating provider, you should not be charged the difference between these two prices. A contracted dentist generally has an agreement with the insurance company to write off the difference in charges. Preventative Most insurance companies consider routine cleanings and examinations as preventative dental care, however, X-rays, sealants and fluoride can be deemed as preventative or basic, depending upon the specific insurance carrier. Basic or Restorative Basic or restorative dental treatment usually consists of fillings and simple extractions. Root canals can be considered basic or major. However, the majority of dental plans list root canals as basic. Major Crowns, bridges, dentures, partials, surgical extractions and dental implants are dental procedures that most dental insurance companies consider as a major procedure. Since all dental insurance carriers are different, it is important to clarify which dental procedures fall under each specific category. This is important because some insurance plans don't cover major procedures and others have waiting periods for certain procedures. Dental Insurance Waiting Periods A waiting period is the length of time an insurance company will make you wait after you are covered before they will pay for certain procedures. Missing Tooth Clause and Replacement Period More than 90 percent of dental insurance policies carry a “missing tooth clause” or a “replacement clause.” Many include at least one of these clauses, but most have both. A missing tooth clause protects the insurance company from paying for the replacement of a tooth that was missing before the policy was in effect.

Hi everybody!!I have to get a tooth removed and the dentist said if i can get it out before it has to be removed then that is fine.My tooth is not wiggly at all though!! I have to get it out in 1 month.Reason i have to get it out is because my adult tooth is right behind my baby tooth.

Wiggle it even if it's not loose. That's how it turns loose. Not sure if there's any shortcuts though. BTW, getting a baby tooth pulled by the dentist doesn't hurt.

How to speed up the process of getting braces off faster?

in

I know a friend that has them, and we are trying to figure out what to do before summer comes!

Answer:
dont take off elastics if your friend has them. if they take it off, they're delaying the time. and try not to break any brackets. as soon as a bracket comes off, the tooth starts shifting back to its original position. lastly, be patient. the orthodontist knows what theyre doing, and if your friend speeds it up, then theyre smile may not be as nice as it could be if they waited. i hope i helped!

How to get rid of a tooth ache?

in

I went to the dentist today because I had a killer tooth ache. The dentist said that my wisdom tooth was growing in and putting weight on my other tooth, which was causing it to hurt. The thing is the dentist who specializes in pulling out wisdom teeth won't be there until April 24. They gave me pain meds. They only helped a little.

Answer:
You could go to another oral surgeon, that may be to long to wait.. You may not want them to use the drug Versed ( Midazolam ) for the procedure. In fact, many people who use Versed for " IV Sedation,Conscious Sedation" during a procedure are awake for the entire procedure but remember nothing, often believing they were "out" the whole time. Versed (Midazolam) is an amnestic. It is also commonly used for minor procedures like colonoscopies dental procedures like extractions, conscious sedation, twilight sleep, so that patients won't remember pain and discomfort.HOWEVER THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT THOSE SENSATIONS WILL NOT BE EXPERIENCED!!!!Forgetting does no mean it did not happen!! Amnesia does NOT take place for some patients. IT'S NOT MY INTENTION FOR YOU TO NOT GET THE PROCEDURE DONE, JUST INFORMING YOU THAT YOU MAY WANT IT DONE WITH ANOTHER DRUG!!!!! Here is a note from a Dentist Who uses Versed I've used Versed 1000+ times during oral surgery procedures and I've never had a complaint. It's a miracle drug because it is safe and it causes you to not remember an unpleasant experience. My answer to him is isn't it better to have not experienced the pain than to have forgot it. No wonder you have had no complaints they have no memory of the procedure.

How to create space between top and bottom teeth with braces?

in

I had invisalign a few years ago which totally ruined my bite. My arches are more narrow and I don't have any vertical space or freeway space between my top and bottom teeth. My mouth is like a cage. What options do I have to open it up?

Answer:
You need to talk with an orthodontist who can see your teeth and understand what you are talking about. Go to a professional.

How to tell when a tooth with a cavity is beyond saving?

in

So I have had a cavity in my tooth for around 3 years. The cavity has gotten bigger, but it is still relatively small for having been there so long. It isn't painful all the time, it only hurts on and off, and it is fine most of the time. I have a dentist appt tomorrow morning, and I'm scared they are going to want to extract the tooth. Is there a way to tell when a tooth is beyond filling? The tooth is towards the front, so I'm scared I will have a gap forever.

Answer:
There is a stage when the tooth becomes irreparably damaged but only your dentist will be able to tell you. It is good that you are going to the dentist. If there is a chance it can be saved then they will try. If it is extracted there are a few options for you. You can get an implant (expensive), bridge (cheaper) or partial denture (cheapest). Good luck to you.
