How to get a credit card with no credit?

in

What company will give you a credit card with no credit. I have a crap load of medical bills but that's it. I already tried capital one. Any suggestions?

Answer:
You may need to try two strategies: 1) Apply for a secured credit card. This is where you give the credit card issuer $250 or so. It issues you a card, and then you use it like any other credit card. Be sure to make your monthly payments on time, as your activity is reported to the credit reporting agencies. On-time payments boost your credit score, and late or no-payments harm your score. Be sure you apply for a secured credit card and not a pre-paid debit card. Pre-paid debit cards do not boost your credit score. 2) Find a trusting friend or family member to co-sign on a credit card. The downside to this is if you default and do not pay, the credit card issuer will pursue the co-signer. If the co-signer does not pay, then his or her credit score (and yours, too) will be harmed. One last thought. You mentioned medical bills. You may have options for paying those bills. See the Source(s) below for a link to a Bills.com discussion of medical debt resolution. I realize that was not not the main part of your question, which is why I'm including a link below.

How to report name and address of fraudulent credit card charges?

in

We recently got an order for over $200 on our site, we shipped it and just got a call from the credit card company saying that it was a fraudulent charge. I'd like to report the name/shipping address to the police, please help!

Answer:
You go to your local police department and file a report. Don't expect to be reimbursed or the cops to launch an all out investigation to get your money back. This is just a part of accepting credit cards on the net.

How to rebuild my credit back up from having bad credit?

in

Just wondering what would be the best way to build my credit score back up from bad credit. I want to be able to buy a house in a few years. Is this possible?

Answer:
Reestablishing credit is not hard. I used 3 small bad credit credit cards for everyday thing I would have normally paid cash for and paid them off in full before the due date for 18-months after my BK in 2001. This single action raised my score over 150-points. Good luck.

I have the agencies information, how do I go about getting it off my report?

Answer:
I had the same thing happen I would try calling if you can get through and are able to get their information then pay them do not use your debit information pay with a check or money order and keep your records credit agencies are sneaky. If you have credit protection where someone monitors your credit and your not able to settle the matter on your own call them they will attempt to settle on your behalf or tell you ways to dispute it.

How to pay credit cards for good credit?

in

I am 20, and I have had a credit card since I was 18. I have been keeping a balance of around $100-300 on it and paying $20-$30 when my balance is due, under the impression that this will build credit, rather than just not using that card. Someone told me that what I am doing was actually hurting my credit? Is this true? Should I just pay off the balances and keep the card balance at $0?

Answer:
Carrying balances does absolutely NOTHING special for your score. It just costs you interest. Pay off the balance. The best way to handle any credit card is to use it for regular purchases, wait for the statement, and pay the balance in full every month. That way you build credit and avoid interest. NOTE: The person, who claimed you get a 700 FICO score after only 4 months of paying on a credit card or loan, does not have a clue about credit and FICO scores. You might get a 700 Fakko score after 4 months, but you have to use a new credit card at least 6 months before it even BEGINS to count in your FICO score. Even after a year, your FICO score won't be near 700. It takes YEARS to build good credit.

How to build credit for somebody with no credit?

in

I'm 19 and I want to start building credit. I have a secure job and I put away money each month. Not a big spender on anything really. I just want to establish credit now so that I can slowly work my way up. Chase has already declined me for there's. Gas card? Pre-paid?

Answer:
you can do this , secured card with two banks, each for $500.00, you pay one off with the other one you opened up. It is difficult to get credit for Visa and Mastercard with no credit. I started getting credit in my late 20's and this is how I did it. I went to retail clothing stores in the mall and applied with an application with Nordstroms, Macy's, Sears, Jewelry stores,Target and Victoria Secret etc. You first start with these stores and they will give you a credit card for $250.00 to start. You can also apply with American Express green card when you make at least a year of payments however; its better to train yourself to credit for a few years until you get this card since, this card you pay off monthly. Start making the minimum monthly payments each month and they will increase your limits instantly when you start making these payments on time. The fico score is based on paying timely on the payment date, after that date is a late payment fee is added on as long as you do not go over 30 days past due. Also, the limit of the orginal balance is based on fico score. If your high balance is $500.00 then you should spend up to $250.00. The fico score is based also on how much you are in debt or balances are all maxed out. When you start getting used to paying your credit ontime and you have job stability then buy a new car and you can usually finance a car with a company like BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, Ford , etc..that has their own financing. You can buy a house with minimum credit history with FHA and verify with alternative documentation like a utility bill or anything you pay on time like rent etc. FHA will use this as a credit history. The best thing to do for looking for a home is looking at the credit guidelines and requirements of FHA and you can go onto their website for more information about qualifying for buying a home.
