How to tell my parents I want to go onto the pill?

I want it not for it's contraceptive benefits, but instead I hear it helps with clearing up acne and regulating your period? How do I get my parents to understand this when they're strict. Also what do I say to my doctor?

Answer:
Pretty mcuh tell them your reasons, and have plausible research and reasons at hand. But just so you know, BC doesnt exactly solve those problems, it CAN, but in other cases it can make your period worse and acne worse. It just plain changes your hormones, so watch out. And you dont want that stuff in your body for a long time, its not natural. And be aware, when you go off it, you are due for an acne flare up unless you are prepared to control your hormones by eating and exercisnig correclty. Just do plenty of research before you decide, and discuss it with your parents. I wanted to for a while for the same reasons, but I ended up not doing it beucase of side effects and thee fact that i didnt feel right screwing up my body.
